Women’s fashions are often more daring and colourful than men’s and this runway season was no different. From bright sparkles to flip-flops to giant earrings to animal prints and more, the fall season has a lot in store. Browse through our picks for New York Fashion Week women’s runway style.

Tom Ford

Plunging necklines and coloured, sequined animal print. Traditional black single-breasted and double-breasted suits in black and grey with metallic trousers. Slim-fit tailoring. Boxy shoulders. Headscarves. Big earrings. Turtle-neck jumpers or bare-chests. Rich fabrics. Low heels. Fishnet stockings. The Tom Ford runway saw a mix on the traditional. One thing is certain is that sparkles are in-Vogue as well as animal prints this season. Take a look at some of the women’s suiting looks this fall.

Carolina Herrera

The Venezuelan fashion designer who is known for designing outfits for many US First Ladies such as Jackie O, Laura Bush, and Michelle Obama is often known for her spectacular ball gowns; however, she launched a fabulous line of suits this fall. She chose fabrics such a neutral earth toned tartans with double-breasting in heavy wool paired with Labrador-like spotted silk button up blouses. Another suit in a stunning green-colour was single breasted with pointed lapels with a silk floral tie shirt underneath showing off the model’s midriff. She paired these looks with pointed toe high heeled boots in colours that almost didn’t seem to match, bright blue floral boots with the green suit and white leather boots with the tweed suit. What do you think of these pairings?

Badgley Mischka

The American fashion label run by Mark Badgley and James Mischka are also known, like Herrara, for stunning ball gowns. For this season, the two took their love of fabric and applied it to their small collection of women’s suits. We see two pastel looks: one candy striped single-breasted blazer and trousers in purple, yellow, green, pink, and subtle reds with a white tie-neck silk blouse and another floral from head to toe look where the blazer, trousers, and undergarment all match. A couple of more traditional looks see a grey single-breasted suit with slightly cropped trousers to reveal purple pointed toe heels, paired with large earrings and an embroidered blouse and the other look in metallic suit fabric in autumnal browns and golds with large earrings and a cashmere turtle-neck jumper in rich red paired with a suitcase-like handbag and metallic pointed toe shoes in a matching hue. What do you think of this small collection?

One in a mermaid green-blue with v-shaped buttons along the collar and at the single-breasted fastening paired with a spectacular neck piece and another striped rainbow suit with a model with no shirt (or bra) and a long, large necklace almost to her belly button.
