Brightly coloured suits are certainly in according to both London and New York fashion week. Throw out (not literally) your navy and black suits and bring on the pastels and the bright colours. Take a look at this week’s fashion week fashionistas as we choose our London Fashion Week’s best dressed women.

Poppy Delevigne

September 14th during London fashion week, photographers captured English fashion model and actress, Poppy Delevigne, wearing a Jigsaw suit as she walked to the Anya Hindmarch Chubby Cloud event at Banqueting House, Whitehall. The Chubby Cloud event is an experimental installation, inspired by their collection’s cloud motif. (Think celebrities, socialites, and actors in a giant, fluffy bed together in a neo-classical palace.)

Poppy wears a double-breasted menswear suit jacket with subtle jetted pockets in a bright dark-mint-green colour with notched lapels. The colour is unusual but beautiful and contrasts with Poppy’s light wavy blonde hair and fair skin.

She pairs the sack-cut suit with some fun heart-shaped black sunshades.

Her suit trousers are loose, but fitted slightly at the hip. They are high-waisted with a single visible button, matching the jacket.

The two daring elements are her casual Converse trainers and the lingerie-like garment underneath. Poppy manages to keep this look elegant, stylish, and casual all at the same time. What do you think of this fashion-week look?

Erin O’Connor

At the Erdem show at the National Portrait, British model, Erin O’Connor wears a mid-grey tweed fabric suit jacket, paired with loose black trousers. The plaid look is very in this season, harking back to the suits of the 1970s. Yet, O’Connor’s look is more muted, reminiscent of Chanel but with a 1930s vibe.

The jacket cut is almost militant in style, belted at the waist with a scarf-like belt for added interest and detail. The jacket has crossover wrap detailing and two brooches on the left-hand side with matching detailing on the right-hand side collar.

The silhouette is sleek with high-shine pointed-toe black ankle boots and her severe short bob with centre parting.

O’Connor keeps her makeup and accessories to a minimum. The autumnal tones to her makeup contrast with the darker suit colours, balanced by the coppery tones of the jacket’s details.

It’s a look that’s subtle, but still sure to turn heads. Even as she stands next to Outlander actress, Caitriona Balfe, O’Connor’s look is striking. The rough-cut hem, the right fabric, everything carefully selected for perfection.

O’Connor loves a good suit and, for many of her most recent events, she’s been spotted with various suit looks.

Victoria Brown

Socialite Victoria Brown attended the Adwoa Aboah X Revlon ‘Live Boldly’ party during London Fashion Week on the 18th of September. Brown is channelling her inner Michelle Dockery in this bright red suit.

Brown’s suit is almost skin-tight with fitted high-waisted trousers with studded detailing and a single breasted jacket draped over her shoulders.

Bright red pointed toe shoes, a boxy handbag with chain detailing, and a peek of bright red jacket lining complete the look. She accessorises with a gold watch and dramatic makeup and perfectly kempt blonde locks a-la-Victoria’s-Secret-runway.

Brown’s lacy, black negligee top reminds us of Jennifer Lawrence’s Jimmy Kimmel appearance. It adds an edginess to the look. What do you think? Would you be bold enough to wear this look?
