This season it’s all about new textures, patterns, and colours in the suiting world – and even monochrome. Get ready to wear your belt off kilter, accessorise with floppy hats, and inject colour into your traditional suit colours. 70s plaid is back in full swing with some 90s vibes thrown in for good measure. Check out our picks for men’s street style looks from New York Fashion Week.

Lawrence Broderick

Where to start with this look? Lawrence Broderick wears an electric blue ombre/waterfall effect suit with a slight shimmer. The pants a cut long and have a scrunched-up effect around his black leather traditional boots with thick soles. He accessorises with a gold monogrammed blue leather backpack with clasp closure, a blue coloured silk neck scarf, and matching blue reflective sunglasses, and an off centre beret. He wears a casual t-shirt in matching red, white, and blue underneath his single breasted loose cut blazer with folded over pockets.

Christian Louboutin

One of the most famous and talked about women’s and men’s shoe makers in the world attends the Marc Jacobs show and is photographed on the street just outside. Christian Louboutin wears an in-style but incredibly classic three piece checkered suit in light grey. Instead of buttoning his top button, he opts for a button gold chain-like button extender. The lining of his suit is in a bright teal and he chooses to button every waistcoat button. His lapels are pointed and the shoulders are padded and well-fitting. His tie is almost a Rorschach-test knit pattern in grey and black with elements of mustard yellow. His buttons are tortoiseshell colour and even his socks are fun in grey, black, and red. His two-toned black and white leather shoes complete the look. A man who probably sees more of his footwear at fashion week than any other designer, sure knows how to dress to impress.

He wears this same sharp suit slightly differently to Paris Fashion Week as he sits beside Kristen Scott Thomas at the Valentino show.

Jordan Barrett

Australian male model Jordan Barrett wears black tailored trousers, a black t-shirt, long blazer, and an oversized purple tailored overcoat to New York Fashion week as he attends the Marc Jacobs show. Known for his striking red-blonde hair and blue eyes, Jordan looks right at home in New York with this monochromatic under layer. The pop of colour contrasts perfectly with his hair and jawline.
