Hello again 007.

Well 007, now that Blofeld is dealt with finally, I hear congratulations are in order for how you dealt with the Rome affair? Don’t be getting too caught up in the praise James. I didn’t come round this early in the morning 5.48am to congratulate you in person. Three MI6 agents have been killed in the last 24 hours whilst monitoring a Dr. Kananga. Reasons are unclear as to why, but this is precisely what you will find out.

The Mission

Agents Baines, Dawes and Hamilton were based in San Monique, New Orleans and New York. An 11.30am flight to New York has been arranged for you to investigate what happened and why. Dr. Kananga, dictator of the island of San Monique, was under the agents’ surveillance. He attended the United Nation headquarters where Hamilton passed. I highly doubt it was more than an unfortunate incident, 007. Coincidences tend not to exist in this line of work without a reason as you know. Charlie, one of Felix Leiter’s drivers will transport you from the airport to Leiter – they already have surveillance on Kananga. Be warned: Kananga’s associate, a woman named Solitaire, is a tarot reader. No doubt he is aware of your unwelcome invitation. Intel reports Kananga has connections with gangster boss Mr. Big and with his status in the city, he will have his own henchman patiently waiting your arrival. Be vigilant. His restaurant chain called ‘Fillet of Soul’ has one located in Harlem where you should find more answers. Travel to San Monique where Kananga is to return and find out what he is up to or what he is protecting. New Orleans is your next port of call Bond, where Dawes was based – did we mention there is also ‘Fillet of Soul’ there? A coincidence we can’t simply ignore.

Your mission: Uncover the true intentions of this partnership between Dr. Kananga and Mr. Big before the damage is done. Find out what Kananga is hiding and I believe you will discover what our agents were so close to discovering.

Please continue reading for a brief of your mission wardrobe.

Mission Wardrobe

We wouldn’t send you away without a few of your finest suits now would we? New York, New Orleans and San Monique, well you shall certainly be needing a suitable change of attire for the fair amount of travelling, and for the warmer climate:

1) Navy Overcoat

Flying to New York, you will wear a double-breasted navy blue Chesterfield overcoat with a velvet collar. Standard features are the flapped pockets and peak lapels for style, worn with a blue shirt and striped tie. A sharp, classic example of gentlemen’s attire. Knee-length too so your movement is not entirely restricted.

2) Casual Attire

Casual attire is always key 007, so we are sending you with a light blue denim jacket and matching denim trousers with a flared leg. The jacket has a wide collar, two button-down pockets on the front and turn-up cuffs for extra practicality. Of course if that isn’t quite casual for you, then a black short-sleeve shirt with breast pocket, turned up sleeves and a wide collar should suffice. Oh, and also a long-sleeve black polo neck when you need to be more secretive on this mission.

3) Reversible Suit

Sometimes packing light is essential, so we’ve added a reversible suit: change from a navy leisure suit with four pockets on the front to a beige linen suit with your usual slanted pockets and two-button fastening with flared trousers. We believe the wardrobe can be more practical than the gadgets.

4) Sports Jacket

Now it will be a warm climate so another beige sports jacket won’t go amiss, I think you’ll agree. With wide notch lapels and a double vent, it will work nicely with a lighter beige shirt and brown patterned tie – attire designed for a speedy getaway, that I’m sure will be tested.

Encounters

Contact has been made with Felix Leiter regarding your arrival in New York – the CIA’s help will be important as always. Never let your guard down 007 on who else you could encounter:

Solitaire

Kananga relies on her heavily for knowing his future to be prepared for whatever comes his way. No doubt she has made him aware of you, Bond. Look out for her wearing a red floor-length dress embroidered in gold and silver with her hair tied up.

Rosie Carver

A new, local agent to the CIA in San Monique. She may be wearing a white denim sleeveless dress with notch lapels and a white belt designed with a gold buckle when you first meet her, or opt for a white sleeveless summer dress: keep a close eye on her 007.

Dr. Kananga

A dictator like Kananga will have many choices of attire, including a single-breasted black jacket and four patch pockets on the front. Long in the body and with a wide collar, it is possible he will wear a white cravat as his chosen accessory.

Debrief

You are not flying to New York to have your future told. Find out what happened to our agents and what Dr. Kananga is really up to. Kananga is still in New York as we speak. Charlie will be waiting at the airport in a brown 1973 Chevrolet Bel Air. Hopefully with you not at the steering wheel, the car will be kept in one piece. Please see extra visuals below for this mission.

Remember the saying 007, ‘live and let live’: but in this world, sometimes you Live and Let Die.

Stay safe and stay stylish.

Good luck 007.
