On Monday, 6th January at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, stars were recognised at The 77th Golden Globe Awards. The awards were started in 1944 and are bestowed by over 90 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, honouring American and International film and American television. The films and television shows are recognised between 1 January and 31 December of the previous year. Let’s take a look at the best-dressed women at the Golden Globes 2020!

Scarlett Johansson

American actress and singer, Scarlett Johansson, was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her film, Marriage Story. Renée Zellweger won the award for the film, Judy.

On the red carpet, Scarlett wore an amazing red silk taffeta Vera Wang gown. The bodice had a plunging sweetheart neckline and a fitted silhouette over the hips with added flourishes, a train, and bows to the sides and back of the dress. The gown is exquisitely constructed and she adorned her neck, ears, and wrist with diamonds.

Renée Zellweger

American actress, best known for her role in the Bridget Jones Diary franchise, Renée Zellweger has always had impeccable performances and she won the Golden Globe this year for her role playing Judy Garland in Judy in the category Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama.

On the red carpet, she wore a stunning robin-egg blue Armani Prive strapless gown. The gown had silver edging around the top of the bodice, across the bodice, along the hem, and up the leg split. She wore matching blue satin pointed toe shoes and a substantial gold and diamond snake bracelet.

Charlize Theron

South African actress and beauty, Charlize Theron, like Scarlett and Renée, was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in Bombshell. She lost to Renée but Charlize looked stunning in this Dior Couture gown.

The gown was half-Grecian in structure with long draping folds in lime green fabric with a lime green belt, but underneath the bodice was a structure black lingerie piece which was tied in by adding a black drape over the shoulder. Charlize accessorised with a chunky silver necklace with black diamond embellishments and a central emerald stone.

Jodie Comer

Liverpudlian Jodie Comer was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series – Drama for her role in Killing Eve, which she lost to Olivia Colman. On the red carpet, Jodie wore an emerald green Mary Katrantzou gown.

The gown had embellished, puffy shoulders and the bodice came straight down in an A-line with no tailoring along the waist and hips. The dress is similar to the pink one she wore in the first season of Killing Eve. She wore fuchsia embellished heels and large diamond earrings.

See Jodie in this video at 1:52 along with some other amazingly dressed women such as Kerry Washington, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston, Salma Hayek, and others.
