Each year the leading independent arts charity, The British Academy of Film and Television Arts, hosts an awards ceremony, rewarding work seen the preceding year. In recent years the film and television awards have been hosted as separate events. Let’s take a look at the best dressed women at the BAFTAS 2019.

Jodie Comer

Phenomenal actress Jodie Comer, the star villain of Killing Eve, wore a one-shoulder fuchsia Stella McCartney gown and Pomellato jewellery. Jodie won the BAFTA for Leading Actress. She gave an emotional and heartfelt acceptance speech in her surprising Liverpudlian accent.

Ruth Wilson

English actress Ruth Wilson who is known for her roles in both television and film, including her iconic role in the four-part BBC television drama serial adaptation of Jane Eyre in 2006. Recently she’s appeared on screen playing her real-life grandmother Alison Wilson in the television series Mrs. Wilson. For the BAFTAS she wore a low neck, structured shoulder belted back gown with button detailing by Alessandra Rich.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge

The Fleabag and Killing Eve writer, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, is incredibly popular these days. She wore a split sleeve dress with structured shoulders in a delicate powder blue with Nina Runsdorf jewellery.

Jodie Whittaker

The Doctor Who star, Jodie Whittaker, wore a loose fitting black-and-white Jasper Conran dress with a Lulu Guiness handbag. She looked chic and elegant.

Emma Mackey

Tailoring has been the in thing for a while on the red carpet and Sex Education’s Emma Mackey opted for a white tailored double-breasted suit with pointed contrasting black lapels. The French-British actress wore her hair slick back and finished her cropped-leg tailored trousers with stunning ankle-strap pointed toe heels.

Keeley Hawes

Bodyguard actress Keeley Hawes was nominated for Leading Actress. Even though she didn’t win, she stunned the crowd with her old-Hollywood off-the-shoulder ball gown in silver by Suzanne Neville and Kurt Geiger heels.

Holly Willoughby

Holly Willoughby, This Morning presenter, wore a Grecian-style organza navy blue gown by Maria Lucia Hohan and Sophia Webster heels. The Hollywood glam short hair with waves has made a comeback this year.

The Coronation Street actress Sair Khan looked stunning in a black straight necked gown with a long train with white floral embroidery. She wore her hair with a centre part and pulled back.

Lily Travers

Lily Travers who starts in the popular show Victoria wore a white silk high halter neck gown. She opted to wear her hair pulled back with a centre parting.

Tess Daly

English model and TV presenter Tess Daly who co-presents Strictly Come Dancing wore a head-to-toe red look with red pointed toe patent leather heels, a red single-breasted suit jacket, a red blouse, a red handbag, and red tailored trousers—and even a touch of red lipstick.

Billie Piper

Actress Billie Piper wore a black one-shouldered double-breasted suit inspired gown (another trend) with a sweetheart neckline and a structured shoulder; she also wore her hair pulled back (another trend). The gown was designed by Dundas and she wore Jimmy Choo shoes.
