The 2019 Cannes Film Festival ran from the 14th May to the 25th of May. The film festival, known to the French as the International Film Festival (Festival international du film) is held annually in Cannes, France. It previews new films from around the world. So many spectacular outfits were seen this year. Let’s take a look at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival best dressed men.
Famous film writer and director, Quentin Tarantino, attended the film festival with his wife Daniella Pick. Quentin wore a classic tuxedo with contrasting pointed satin lapels. He wore a black bow tie, a classic white button-up shirt, black tuxedo trousers, and black shiny leather shoes. Sylvester Stallone known for the Rocky film series, The Expendables series, and many other films attended Cannes with his wife Jennifer Flavin and their daughter Sistine. Sylvester wore a new take on a classic tux by opting to wear white trousers and black leather shoes. He wears the classic button-up with black button covers and a classic bow-tie. Like Quentin, he wears a jacket with pointed lapels in a contrasting satin (although the cut differs) and he finishes the look with a white pocket square. His daughter wears a champagne coloured slip dress and his wife wears a more structured high-necked cold shoulder black dress with a gold belt.Embed from Getty Images
Gael Garcia Bernal
The Mexican actor who is known for Bad Education, The Motorcycle Diaries, and Y Tu Mama Tambien, Gael Garcia Bernal wore a fashionable double-breasted suit with the button line off centre which is highly fashionable. He wore classic black tailored trousers, a black button-up shirt, and black leather boots. His jacket had contrasting satin notched lapels (a trend, perhaps?) and he wore a skinny black tie. On his arm is Fernanda Aragones who wore a one-sleeved sleek black, off the shoulder gown in the form of an oversized puff in black satin.Embed from Getty Images
Javier Bardem who is known for many film roles including No Country for Old Men for which he received the Academy Award for best supporting actor wore a navy blue tuxedo with round lapels and a single-breasted one-button closure. The pocket had contrasting black trim on his geometrically patterned Ermengildo Zegna tux. He also opted for velvet loafers minus his socks!Embed from Getty Images
Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio
One of the most talked about films at Cannes was Tarantino’s ninth film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. True to character, Brad Pitt showed up in a more casual outfit of jeans, roughed up boots, a long-sleeved polo, sunglasses, and a flat cap while Leonardo DiCaprio opted to channel his inner Gatsby in a navy blue single-breasted notched lapel suit with black leather shoes. He left his tie at home, though, and went for a more casual, open-necked white button-up shirt. The men flanked Margot Robbie who wore an off-the-shoulder in white cotton lace and heeled sandals.Embed from Getty Images
