The Graham Norton show won’t be returning until January, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t send off the year in style. On the New Year’s Eve show Graham welcomed several famous guests on his red sofa for a lively chat. Did you catch this episode yet? He was joined by Olivia Colman, Nicholas Hoult, Keira Knightley, Guy Pearce, Catherine Tate, and the music from Rita Ora. Let’s take a look at what these celebrities were wearing.

Nicholas Hoult

Former boyfriend of Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult appeared with Olivia Colman to promote The Favourite, their new film. Nicholas is known for his roles in TVs Skins and the films Mad Max, X-men, and his early role About a Boy. On the show he appears very dapper in a black two-piece suit. His blazer is single breasted with notched lapels and he wears a bold shirt underneath with a gold print on a black background.

Norton discusses Nicholas’ role in Casualty at the age of seven.

Guy Pierce

To promote his new film Mary, Queen of Scots, actor Guy Pierce appeared on the show for the first time wearing a velvet blazer with buttons all up the front in an all-black ensemble. Underneath he paired the smart blazer with black jeans and a black t-shirt—and shoes that were a little bit on the ‘casual’ side. His round glasses and bearded look with longer hair is on trend right now.

He discusses his current role as William Cecil in the film. The British-born-Australian-Raised Guy is most well-known for his roles in The King’s Speech and the 2000s film Memento along with other 1990s films such as L.A. Confidential and his long-time role on the soap Neighbours.

Norton brings out a Who’s Who of Neighbours magazine and reveals to the audience how Guy looked when he was on the show.

Graham Norton

Graham Norton himself wore a single breasted suit jacket with silk tuxedo-like, pointed lapels with a pattern that resembled NYE’s fireworks with a purple sheen and purple glitter effect. He wore a silky black button up shirt with a purple tie and black suit trousers with black leather shoes.

Catherine Tate

Catherine Tate was the first guest of the night and she took a leaf from Norton’s book, wearing a tuxedo-like pointed-lapel, single-breasted long blazer with silky lapels. She dressed down the look with a black blouse and black jeans. She wears low, sling back pointed-toe heels with a black and white striped print. However, to see her main outfit, you’ll have to watch the episode on the iPlayer. In the YouTube clip below, Catherine is reprising her famous role as ‘Nan’ to promote her upcoming West End show, The Catherine Tate Show Live.

Keira Knightley

Oscar winner Keira Knightley wore a sparkly wine red tweed blazer in red with high waisted black cropped trousers with button details at the waist, open-toed strappy heels, and a buttoned-up black blouse with a white star pattern. She looked elegant as usual with slightly wavy tousled hair. Norton discussed how she received an OBE this year. Keira came on the show to promote her upcoming film Collette. In the clip, Keira performs music on her teeth!

Olivia Colman

Talented actress Olivia Colman who is due to play the queen in the next series of The Crown came on the show to promote her film, The Favourite. She is known for many roles including Peep Show and The Night Manager. She discusses how it was awkward to do the sex scenes for the film with fellow actress Emma Stone.

On the show she is wearing a beautiful velvet jumpsuit in a deep purple-y-blue with large sparkly gold earrings and matching gold pointed toe flats. She looks elegant with her cropped hair and fresh makeup.

Olivia also discusses her role as the queen, following on from Claire Foy, and how she manages to control her expressive face.
