On the 1st December 2018, Indian actress and former Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra and singer Nick Jonas wed at one of the world’s largest private residences Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur in Rajasthan, India in the bride’s native country. Despite their ten year age difference (Priyanka is ten years Nick’s senior), the pair sparked rumours of their relationship at the 2017 Met Gala.

Playing coy

Priyanka played coy at a Jimmy Kimmel interview merely saying they were seated at the same designer’s table since they were both wearing Ralph Lauren designs for the event. But in May 2018, a year after their debut at the Met Gala, the pair were spotted over Memorial Day weekend. In June, Nick brought Priyanka as his date to his cousin’s wedding where he was wearing a single breasted plaid blue suit with a white button up shirt, open at the neck, whilst she wore traditional Indian dress.

Heating up

After vacationing in India and meeting her family, Nick shared an Instagram video of the actress. By June there were rumours that Nick spent a lot of time at her New York City apartment and by July or August they were engaged.

She debuted her large diamond ring on Nick’s Instagram where he captioned the photograph, ‘Future Mrs. Jonas. My heart. My love.’

Priyanka later posted her own engagement photo on her Instagram.

In October, the pre-wedding festivities began.

By November, they were attending a prayer ceremony together to begin the kick-off to the wedding ceremonies.

A weekly affair

The ceremony lasted a week, starting on Monday, 26 November with a dinner party. By Wednesday, Priyanka’s mother, Dr Madhu Chopra, held a traditional puja ceremony at her home for the wedding party to celebrate the upcoming wedding.

Throughout the week, guests wore traditional Indian dress including Nick’s brother Joe Jonas and his fiancée Sophie Turner.

The bride and groom’s family even had a ‘team bride’ versus ‘team groom’ cricket match.

Ralph Lauren outfits

The wedding party was kitted out in custom Ralph Lauren designs. To oversee the Christian ceremony, Nick’s father, Paul Kevin Jonas Senior, officiated.

Priyanka wore a stunning custom Ralph Lauren gown with mother of pearl paillettes (painted/enamelled sequins), crystal seed beading, and Swarovski crystal embellishments. The dress took almost 2,000 hours to complete. Underneath her dress, she wore a strapless column gown with additional mother of pearl sequins (around two million. Her seventy-five foot tulle veil topped off the look. Prior to this point, Ralph Lauren had only ever made a gown for his daughter, his daughter-in-law, and his niece, but at the Meta Gala in 2017, Ralph Lauren personally approached Priyanka with sketches of his visionary and stunning bridal look.

The bride and groom also had the Simpson’s treatment.

Stunning style

Both bride and groom looked spectacular. Nick’s traditional double breasted black suit looked sharp and the pair looked ecstatic on their special day.
