On the 17th of September at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, California, television celebrities attended the famous television award evening, The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards. The Emmys were hosted by Michael Che and Colin Jost. Many look to the ladies to see what they are wearing, but we’re going to switch it up a little; let’s take a look at some of the best suits of the night: men’s Emmy fashions edition.

RuPaul

RuPaul is known for his role as host of his reality competition series called RuPaul’s Drag Race. He has won three Emmy Awards for his show in 2016, 2017, and this year too. This year he received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program. RuPaul is known to be the most commercially successful drag queen in the US.

At the Emmys RuPaul wowed in an all-white suit with a y-shaped button fastening. His slim fit trousers looked sleek and his crisp white shirt was buttoned up to the last button. He accessorised with black-framed glasses, a cocktail ring, and a black clutch. The suit jacket and trousers bore an Andy Warhol print of the Statue of Liberty that panned from the upper right leg of the trouser, up the right side, and mid-way on the right sleeve. He wore tangerine coloured pointy-toe Calvin’s Western boots with a Cuban heel.

Colin Jost

Colin Kelly Jost, the Harvard alum, is known for his work on Saturday Night Live where he’s been co-anchor of ‘Weekend Update’ (a spot that used to be occupied by Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey) since 2014. Fresh out of university, at the age of 22, he started as a writer on SNL and eventually became head writer before being asked by executive producer, Lorne Michaels, to start in the show itself. Even though he doesn’t have a long list of credits, he’s certainly made a hit in the industry and he also is famously linked to Scarlett Johansson; they appeared on the red carpet together for the Avengers: Infinity War premier this past April.

Colin can be seen arriving with girlfriend Scarlett on the red carpet wearing a classic tuxedo. Scarlett wears a white off-the-shoulder dress with plunging neckline and silver strappy Christian Louboutin shoes. Colin’s pointed lapels of his single-breasted tuxedo jacket have a contrasting black silk fabric for added detail. His shirt has classic black tuxedo buttons and he wears a black bow tie. Colin is clean shaven with slicked back hair. He wears shiny black leather shoes. Overall, he looks handsome and dapper with the classic black tux look.

Matthew Rhys

Matthew Rhys won best leading actor in a drama this year for his role on The Americans. The Welsh actor, who is in a relationship with his co-star Keri Russell and welcomed their son, Sam, in May of 2016, is also known for his role as the poet Dylan Thomas in The Edge of Love. The 2008 film co-starred Keira Knightley, Sienna Miller, and Cillian Murphy.

Matthew also opts for a classic black tuxedo look. Instead of pointed lapels like Colin, he goes for rounded silk-fabric lapels. He chooses a classic black bow tie and accessorises with a lapel pin. He wears black leather shoes, wears his hair slicked back, and opts for a bit of stubble. He can be seen alongside Keri who wears a stunning black gown with beads and feathers and gold strappy heels.
